Spark Power Vice President & General Manager in Fort Worth, Texas

VICE-PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER, U.S.A. – DALLAS, TEXAS

The Vice-President and General Manager is an experienced senior operating leader who is responsible for developing and implementing both short and long-term tactical and strategic plans in accordance with the corporation's goals and objectives. This position helps to drive and grow the business in an efficient and effective manner by providing guidance and strategy to all operational teams across the U.S. market. This position reports to the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is part of the company's Senior Leadership Team.

ROLE SCOPE

  • Ensure that safety metrics and objectives are established and adhered to in alignment with the company's zero-incident safety policy.

  • Collaborate with the COO to provide leadership, operational expertise and strategic direction to the organization and all operational teams within the Canadian line of business.

  • Steward a “One Spark” culture. Demonstrate commitment to safety through own actions and mentoring others and live within Spark's five company values.

  • Act as a ‘first team' member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for the overall health and profitability of the business.

  • Develop and control annual budget and long-term financial plans, as well as oversee the operation of all functions within the line of business, to ensure budgets, policies and procedures are being consistently followed and maintained against corporate requirements.

  • Responsible for profit and loss (P&L) and free cashflow generation for the Canadian line of business.

  • Manage direct customer relationships with key, strategic customers in the market and support the commercial development of line of business within the market.

  • Instill and lead continuous improvement projects that provide for further value creation and increased customer performance.

  • Clear understanding of the company shareholder's future perspective and develop strategies for growth and shareholder value creation accordingly.

  • Assist in the implementation of corporate policies and procedures to achieve established corporate goals and support the corporate mission statement under the One Spark operating model.

  • Develop performance objectives and delivering performance evaluations for direct reports within the line of business leadership team.

  • Set strategic objectives for the defined region and ensure that planning initiatives are implemented to maximize strategic growth.

  • Stay current on latest developments in best practices and related regulatory requirements to advise the business how to manage the associated risks in an appropriate and timely manner.

  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of competitors, ensuring the Company is a competitive player in the marketplace.

  • Develop field level employee relationships and drive improved employee retention and reduced employee turnover.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in managing technical field operations in the electrical industry.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Engineering.

  • MBA or MBA in progress is preferred.

  • Strong background in P&L management.

  • Ability to easily adapt to new technologies and provide change leadership in the rollout of new technologies.
