Volunteer Opportunities at LDS Hospital

We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, dedicated, and committed to providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteers are an integral part of our LDS Hospital family, providing consistent and valuable support in a variety of departments throughout the hospital and contributing to the extraordinary patient care experience.

This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the reward that comes from making a difference in people’s lives.

We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as:

Surgical Waiting Room - Keeping family updated with information regarding their family member who is having surgery

Emergency Room - Assisting patients/staff in the Emergency Room meeting their needs

Gift Shop - Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items and using the cash register

Front Information Desk - Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointments

Women’s Services Reception Desk - Assisting visitors presenting to Women’s Services

Department – Other Department Volunteer opportunities as needed

Music - Playing Music in the Hospital Lobby

Qualifications:

Six-month commitment with a minimum of a 3-4 hour shift each week

Must be at least 16 years of age

Able to work alone and independently

Good communication and listening skills

Ability to follow instructions

Ability to work with diverse populations

Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)

Adequate hearing and vision

Sensitive to patient and family situations

Required:

Passing a background check and drug screening

Agree to get a TB test

Meet Immunization compliance
