Admissions Assistant

Full Time | Day Shift | 8am-4:30pm

What will I do as an Admissions Assistant for The Wesley Community?

The primary purpose of your job position is to work with the Admissions Director to secure admissions for Wesley Health Care. You are responsible for assisting them in acquiring the necessary information and authorizations to ensure admissions are fiscally sound in order to secure payment for care while meeting the needs of the potential resident.

  • Data entry of new admissions and updates in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Pulling referral information to verify eligibility and benefits with insurance companies.

  • Review Medicare benefit to confirm number of SNF days available for all potential admissions.

  • Obtain insurance authorization for incoming residents.

  • Create admissions packets and complete Admissions Agreements with residents and/or their representatives.

  • Assist residents and/or their representatives with obtaining and completing admissions paperwork. This includes meeting, emailing or otherwise corresponding with residents and/or their representatives to review Admission Agreement documents and obtain signatures.

  • Distribute insurance information on new residents to appropriate staff.

  • Track and complete DSS notification forms on new admissions and temp stay letters, as needed.

  • Maintain original and electronic documentation for admissions including original PRI and screen.

  • Maintain referral database (CRM).

  • Tracking and follow up of document receipt; admission agreements, POA, HCP, AOB, etc.

  • Assisting families/resident with application for VA benefits and annual VA EVRS.

  • Maintain Face Sheet updates and related To-Dos in the EMR.

  • Keep track of and maintain updates to admission documents.

  • Enter collection notes and initiating To-Dos for Business Office staff to follow up on residents applying for Medicaid.

  • Work with Admissions Director as required to secure admissions.

  • Telephone and Cable System updates.

    Admissions Assistant Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.

  • A minimum of two years' experience in medical insurance authorizations and/or Preferably in Skilled Nursing Facility setting.

  • Extensive computer/word processing experience required.

  • Experience in a health care setting preferred.
