TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES Taylor County Precinct 3 Deputy Constable in Abilene, Texas

Taylor County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Constable Deputy. This law enforcement position will primarily operate at the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center. Normal hours will be Monday - Friday, daytime hours. A Deputy Constable must be at least 21 years old and hold a peace officer license under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Criminal history and background investigations will be conducted on all applicants. This Deputy Constable Position will involve ongoing Juvenile Justice and Peace Officer Training. Deputies will: Be able to use discretion and common sense in ongoing day to day operations. Ensure safety and security at the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center. Screen visitors and clients for entry and contraband. Be able to work closely with Juvenile staff to ensure smooth day to day operations. Enforce the laws of Texas. All applicants must have at least 1 year or more experience in law enforcement. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus.* *Starting Salary: $53,500.00 + benefits **Benefits include: 100% county-paid employee medical and dental insurance, paid life and disability insurance, retirement, and paid vacation/sick time.
