This job role profile describes the indicative tasks and responsibilities for the Data and Configuration Manager.

Role description

The Data and Configuration Manager will support the EWIS – Joint and Air sustainment programs by providing configuration knowledge to support technical and engineering activities and ensure quality and compliance with appropriate technical delegations commensurate with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.

The Data and Configuration Manager is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex technical configuration work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

Security clearance

This role is minimum NV1 with ability to obtain NV2.

Rate of effort

Full time, 40 hours

Key Tasks and demonstrated behaviours

  • Provide administrative support to the Sustainment management unit (SMU)

  • Demonstrate understanding of engineering systems and processes;

  • Undertake configuration activities in accordance with SAE 649C configuration principles.

  • Provide subject matter expert advice on Configuration Management and Data Management (CM/DM) to SMU members of both technical and nontechnical backgrounds;

  • Provide tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving or escalating any compliance issues;

  • Facilitating CM and DM audits;

  • Mentoring the organization of CM / DM services, concepts, policies, and procedures;

  • Assisting with the configuration control board (CCB) and enacting changes as directed;

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Data Management principles; and

  • Ensure Objective access and data storage are compliant with CASG QMSE

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry experience (Mandatory)

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Defence or related technical industry (Desirable)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Mandatory)
