Job Summary: S4 Inc. is seeking a skilled RDENET Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL). ARL's mission is to discover, innovate, and transition science and technology to ensure dominant strategic land power, with a vision to be the nation's premier laboratory for land forces. The RDENET Cybersecurity Specialist will work within the Cybersecurity Office under the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to provide comprehensive Cybersecurity services for Research Development Engineering Network (RDENET) zones, ensuring compliance with DoD and Army Cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Cybersecurity services for RDENETs, including comprehensive reviews, recommendations, risk assessments, and approvals.

  • Evaluate customer's technical requirements and proposed RDENET enclaves to ensure mission work meets established RDENET criteria.

  • Assess technical plans and identify Cybersecurity concerns to mitigate issues within the planning phase prior to implementation.

  • Review submitted RDENET Concept of Operations (OPSCON), hardware, software, user lists, SOPs, STIG checklists, and other A&A artifacts to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity regulations.

  • Validate that all systems within the enclave are configured in accordance with Vulnerability Scanning, HBSS, DISA STIGs, logging, and monitoring requirements.

  • Review mid-year RDENET package submissions for major changes, identify compliance deficiencies, perform risk assessments, and provide recommendations to the Configuration Control Board (CCB).

  • Review annual RDENET package updates, identify compliance deficiencies, perform risk assessments, and provide recommendations to the CCB.

  • Include the compliance status of each enclave in the annual Cybersecurity Compliance report.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cybersecurity, with a focus on compliance and network security.

  • Strong understanding of DISA STIG guidance, Vulnerability Scanning, HBSS, and DoD Cybersecurity standards.

  • Proficiency with Cybersecurity tools and compliance processes.

  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate technical plans and compliance data.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with IT staff and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Experience in managing and validating compliance for specialized R&D networks.

    Key Areas of Focus:

  • Support the Cybersecurity Office under the OCIO within ARL.

  • Manage Cybersecurity services for ARL's Research Development Engineering Networks (RDENETs).

  • Ensure successful performance and compliance with Cybersecurity standards across RDENET environments.
