Responsibilities Major Duties of the Position: Teaches students in undergraduate courses, including the associated duties of enforcing classroom standards and provides extra instruction outside of normal class hours for students who require it. Teaches and course directs advanced, upper-level, division courses within the discipline. Demonstrates and disseminates advanced teaching skills in assigned classes through superior classroom organization, course and curricular planning, and delivery of best practices to colleagues of all ranks. Participates in department, faculty, and interdisciplinary efforts to improve course design, pedagogy, and interpersonal engagement. Participates in departmental efforts to improve educational programs by organizing and leading discussions regarding emerging techniques, technology, and scholarship for colleagues. Assists colleagues in the preparation and implementation of course material and content. Researches, plans, and delivers disciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarly and teaching material to interdisciplinary cadet and faculty audiences. Mentors junior military and civilian faculty within the department in building teaching excellence and innovation. Builds status as institutional leader in pedagogy, course design, curricular planning, and assessment. Provides student assessment and motivation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters in Biology or related field. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Biology or related field. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior teaching experience, education/professional experience to support teaching anatomy and physiology courses. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
