Alcon Construction, Inc. Concrete Foreman in Alamosa, Colorado
We are looking for a full-time, experienced concrete foreman to join our growing team. The concrete foreman's overall purpose is to manage the concrete job from start to finish while ensuring quality control, proper staffing, safety, meeting deadlines, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The foreman will work "hands on" with the crew, supervise the crew, and work closely with the Concrete Superintendent.
Duties and responsibilities include: Manage the day-to-day job details (foundation, flatwork, curb & gutter, sidewalk, etc.), make sound judgements regarding weather and existing conditions prior to pouring concrete Fully understand project scope; interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders as needed; direct subgrade work, elevations, setting of forms, perform mathematical computations, etc. Identify concrete mixes and quantities, determine required equipment and procedures needed to achieve desired finish and performance results on each job Place and finish concrete with crew using a variety of tools and equipment Manage crews for efficiency and labor costs; study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job Manage materials for efficiency and proper usage Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently and then stored properly by the crew to ensure zero accidents Enforce safety standards and conduct safety meetings Input daily logs, pictures, timecards, mileage and equipment usage Analyze and resolve work problems Train new employees, provide oversight and manage employee performance Assist with other duties or special projects as needed
Qualified applicants must have: A valid driver license and clean driving record so they can drive company vehicles Three years directly related experience and finishing skills One year of supervisory experience Stable work history and references from previous/current employer(s) The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications An extensive knowledge of construction safety Your own tools of the trade
ACI certification is preferred. Hours are Monday through Friday with possible Saturdays, 45 + hours per week. This position requires the ability to climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, squat, and tolerate heights as well as exert heavy physical effort. Qualified candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs. Travel outside of the San Luis Valley is occasionally required.
