Job Description:

Responsibilities

Looking to support cross-cutting and collaborative projects in environmental health? Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Strategic Operations Unit at the Center for Environmental Health within the New York State Department of Health to support environmental health initiatives with a focus on data modernization, health equity, public health science, and workforce development. The Center for Environmental Health supports programs and policies focused on childhood lead poisoning prevention, climate change adaptation, environmental investigations, school environmental health, water supply protection, and more! The incumbent will report to the Director of Strategic Operations and work alongside program staff across the Center. The incumbent will review existing scientific literature, support data analysis and reporting, gather information for the response to public inquiries, and support continuous quality improvement of programs and projects across the Center. The incumbent will also support the development and revision of regulations in accordance with Public Health Law. The incumbent will also support initiatives with Local Health Department and Regional and District Office Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Environmental Science, Public/Environmental Health or a related field and three years of project coordination experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Environmental Science, Public/Environmental Health or closely related field and three years of experience in applied public health and/or environmental health and/or environmental science. Experience working in environmental health field. Proficiency with project management, program evaluation, partner engagement, and strategic planning. Proficiency with data analysis and visualization, along with experience and preparing reports and presentations.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
