Position Summary : Tidal Basin currently has an opening for a Human Resources Business Partner whose primary responsibility will be to organize and deliver a comprehensive New Employee Orientation to all new hires, introducing them to our company culture, expectations, policies, timekeeping systems, learning platforms, and additional areas of focus based upon business needs. The individual in this role will also be responsible for scheduling follow up meetings at designated intervals throughout employees first 90 days of employment.
The goal is to deliver a dynamic employee experience while communicating important policy and company specific information. Orientations may be delivered remotely by way of camera video conferencing or in-person based upon hiring needs. Travel can include anywhere in the USA, and flexibility with scheduling is essential. The individual will be responsible for educating new employees on relevant company policies, goals and expectations of the position, company culture, benefits, payroll related information, training and more. Additional Human Resources support including handling complex employee relations issues may be required which could also involve approximately 50% travel due to the nature of our business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ + Deliver a comprehensive orientation program that will apply to all new employees across all entities of the company
Provide concise and accurate information to help new employees feel welcome and integrated into the organization with the expectation of orientation occurring on the first day of the new hire’s employment
Provide a comprehensive overview of the company, its mission, values, and culture
Review of the company organizational chart and discussion of roles, business units and responsibility levels
Provide a thorough overview of the Employee Handbook and relevant policies including dress code, work hours, contact information, etc.
Provide a comprehensive overview of the intranet effectively navigating where everything is located
Deliver a detailed overview of the time and expense system, while also providing the necessary training on how to enter and submit time and expenses
Provide an overview on benefits plan information, enrollment timeframe, and explanation of enrollment forms, etc.
Maintain an orientation checklist of all new hires to ensure all of the specific areas are covered during orientation and their first 90 days of employment
Prepare and send surveys to new hires as a way to continuously evaluate the process and suggest areas for improvement as needed
Assess training needs and recommend solutions
Prepare relevant instructional materials
Responsible for ensuring all employees take their required compliance training upon hire and annually thereafter; may be required to coordinate and/or deliver additional professional development programs as needed
Responsible for coordinating with other departments on workstation setup, equipment, supplies, access cards, etc.
Review of safety protocols and incident reporting
Ensure compliance with E-Verify requirements
Coordinate with management team on specific department overviews that may need to be incorporated into new hire orientation
Must exercise a high degree of confidentiality and discretion at all times
May be responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues; This can include but is not limited to conducting thorough and objective investigations, working closely with leadership and employees on performance related issues, etc.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Travel is required and essential for this position. Worksites include but are not limited to anywhere in the United States, including the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. Duration of deployments vary based upon business needs

Required Education and Experience:
4-year degree in Human Resources preferred; may consider degrees in Business Administration, Business Management, Organizational Leadership, Training & Development, Communications
3+ years of experience in Human Resources with strong knowledge of benefits, HR policies, HR compliance requirements, E-Verify and Form I9 requirements, federal and state forms required upon hire, etc.
3+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role preferred; Additional experience in a corporate Training and Development role helpful; relevant training background in a similar type of role may be considered
HR certification a plus
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other training and presentation software programs or applications; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Paylocity onboarding and reporting preferred
