The Staff Accountant (Hybrid) will be a key part of the Finance team that is responsible for all financial operations, compliance and reporting. They will play a crucial role in the timely and accurate input, processing, reporting, and analysis of accounting and finance transactions across all areas of the business.

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will work out of Profisee's headquarters in Alpharetta, GA on a hybrid basis. The Staff Accountant will typically come into the office 1 day a week. The best Staff Accountants are detail-oriented, ethical, and focused on adding value to the business.

What Success in this Role Looks like:

Within First 30 Days

Gain a fundamental understanding of the Accounting and Finance processes at Profisee. Assist with simple projects to support the accounting close process.

Within First 60 Days

Review, input, process, and report accounting transactions in all areas of the business. Maintain an overview of transaction activity to identify risks and opportunities to the business and potential solutions or initiatives. Become proficient with the general ledger (NetSuite), payroll (CBIZ), and expense reimbursement (Expensify) systems used by Profisee.

Within First 120 Days

Identify and implement changes to reduce the monthly close cycle and refine accounting processes.

Competencies - What We are Looking for:

Technical Competency:

Understand current revenue recognition rules for software to maintain recognition schedules for financial and tax reporting. Demonstrate proficiency in US GAAP, including the application of ASC 606 and managing financials across multiple entities.

Reporting and Analysis:

Post journal entries and reconcile accounts to support accurate financial reporting. Complete financial closing processes and tasks on a regular basis within monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines (performance of reconciliations, maintenance of supporting balance schedules, etc.). Review and analyze financial balances and activity to create relevant reports and forecasts of cash flow, profitability and margins. Prepare and post financial statements in accordance with established accounting standards and practices. Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy.

Compliance Support:

Prepare audit schedules and support audit inquiries and analysis for annual financial audits. Prepare schedules to support compliance filings for banks, local authorities, and sales tax.
