The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Epic Applications has subject expertise in matters related to IT implementations, applications management, and operations. Primary responsibility includes understanding IT needs and opportunities, and identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating primary and secondary information systems to support operations.

Provides leadership, tactical planning, evaluation, and coordination of the primary information systems to meet the Strategic IS Plan for AdventHealth
Coordinates the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of applications and systems, applying standard IT systems design and development processes
Work closely with the AdventHealth Clinical, Patient Financial Services and other corporate entities to coordinate and facilitate initiatives
Provides leadership, evaluation, and coordination of the secondary information systems located at the hospitals to meet additional IT needs
Analyzes the use of technology in the clinical or business setting to continuously improve safety, quality, patient and overall IT satisfaction to achieve our Corporate Vision
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
Directs the management and integration of data, while controlling costs
Leads regulatory initiatives involving information systems
Develops Managers to enhance leadership skills and improve employee engagement
Coordinates planning, budgeting and staff development strategies to assure information services and technology supports the maximum return on investment
Collaborates to optimize systems, processes and promote efficiency.
Promotes initiatives that are cost-effective and provides meaningful use of electronic health systems
Facilitates standardization of information systems terminology, processes and content to ensure compliance that meets all regulatory requirements while minimizing support costs
Plans annual budget requirements for the application team with the Application Managers, Executive Director and Vice President.
Forecasts rolling 3-year budget for required hardware and software for hospitals and solutions for information system needs
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare and/or computer science or business administration, with related healthcare experience Required
Master's Degree in Healthcare, Informatics, Computer Science or Business administration; all with related healthcare experience Preferred
5 years leadership experience, with a background in clinical management or operational delivery Required
5 years Information Systems experience, with progressive responsibilities for leadership and support of healthcare IT Required
Proven leadership experience in a large Healthcare System Required
Experience implementing and supporting clinical or business systems Required
Working knowledge of business administration and organizational principles, with an in-depth knowledge of Healthcare issues and regulations
Demonstrated ability to relate to all levels of the organization, analyze complex issues and translate in language appropriate to the customer
Ability to work collaboratively, influencing decisions and outcomes and facilitating consensus
Excellent interpersonal skills to include written, oral communication and presentation skills
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional service orientation
Epic Certification and/or proficiency of related application suite of products preferred
Maintenance of current licensure or certification related to area of specialty (OT, PT, SLP, RN, RPH, RT, ARRT, etc.) Preferred
Epic Certification in EpicCare Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, EpicCare Link
