The role you will contribute:

The Community Advocacy Manager is a critical member of the Community Advocacy team, responsible for community benefit and community engagement. Community Advocacy Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with strategic nonprofit partners in Corporate and connecting back to hospital leadership to ensure awareness of community efforts. The manager assists in ensuring that hospital leadership is involved with the community and represented on local boards of directors. The manager is involved on community boards and is highly visible at community events. The manager collaborates with internal departments and external organizations to develop, implement, track and report community programs and initiatives in alignment with the Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Plans to have the greatest positive impact to meet needs for underserved population. The Community Advocacy Manager is responsible for execution of IRS-required functions including, but not limited to: Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Community Health Plan – development, implementation, and evaluation Ongoing tracking of Community Benefit • Responsible for participating in CHNA collaborative process for hospital. • Community Advocacy Manager will assist in forming and convening the Hospital Health Needs Assessment Committee (HHNAC) to help guide through the assessment process. • Responsible for assisting with the development of the CHNA. • Responsible for assisting with the development and writing the three-year CHP. • Responsible for assisting in collection and recording of community benefit activities and partnering with AdventHealth Community Benefit Manager and Finance team to ensure these activities are counted and reported correctly for tax purposes. The manager will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Provide support in enhancing relationships with external partners, including non-profit organizations, foundations, community influencers, and business leaders.

  • Activate sponsorship opportunities for events and programs that benefit the health of the community as defined by AdventHealth.

  • Assist in keeping AdventHealth leaders informed of community work, providing strategic opportunities to speak, attend events, serve on boards, and be visible in the community.

  • Assist in collaboration with hospital departments that touch community relationships, such as Marketing, Foundation, Government Affairs and Mission & Ministry.

  • Work proactively and independently, showing initiative and problem-solving skills and seeking advice when appropriate.

  • Assist Sr. Manager with Community responsibility working in Salesforce for AdventHealth Corporate.

  • Assist Sr. Manager in coordinating the development and implementation of Community Needs Health Assessment and Community Health Plan.

  • Attend and actively participate in CHNA and CHP collaboratives, steering committees.

  • Coordinate and manage hospital community benefit programs activation and evaluation.

  • Assist Sr. Manager in serving as point of contact for AdventHealth Corporate on community benefit initiatives to ensure inclusion within strategic and financial planning processes.

  • Coordinate and manage Week of Caring activities in alignment with Health Priorities.

  • Assist Sr. Manager to coordinate sponsorship requests in alignment with CHNA Health Priorities and AdventHealth Community Benefit budget.

  • Assist with compiling metrics and reports as requested for CHP strategies and objectives including annual AdventHealth CHP evaluation.

  • Assist meeting all deadlines established by AdventHealth Corporate Services for CHNA, CHP and CHP evaluations.

  • Responsibility for AdventHealth Community Referral Network identifying opportunities for shared metrics and reports for Community Health Plan.

  • Participate in timely and accurate compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines and standards including Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs), Implementation Strategies, annual state Community Benefit Reports [if applicable], and IRS Schedule H narrative responses.

  • Coordinate infographics and tools to proactively communicate program implementation, evaluation and outcomes to stakeholders and community organizations.

  • Assist in the processing of invoices including coding invoices.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· Bachelor's degree in public health, Marketing, or related field or equivalent documented professional experience in community focused work environment.

· 1 project management experience in health care, business, government, or community organizations

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with individuals, non-profit organizations.

· Well-connected in the community.

· Ability to express ideas clearly, logically and in an organized fashion.

· Well-organized and detail-oriented, able to work independently and prioritize.

· Strong writing, organization, and interpersonal communications skills.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Willingness to become familiar with IRS regulations on what counts, communicating with Corporate to ensure all Community Health functions comply with the most updated IRS regulations to ensure maintenance of non-profit.

· DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience working with health care and/or non-profit industry leaders.

· Experience working with budgets.
