Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Hardware Quality Engineer to join the Radio Frequency Components team supporting semiconductor manufacturing in Andover, MA. As a core member of the Operations Quality team, the individual in this role will be responsible for monitoring production performance, leading yield improvements and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), supporting factory compliance to site policies and procedures, validating proper change control and implementation, and more. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize semiconductor process knowledge and strong analytical and communications skills to drive cost effective quality solutions.

What you will do:

  • Define change classification and customer communication plans.

  • Develop understanding of daily operations and production trends to drive continuous improvement.

  • Participate in change control board activities and disposition defects to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Perform data analysis to identify trending production issues impacting cost and delivery.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities through Defect Prevention and Yield Teams.

  • Support audit readiness and interface with DCMA & MDA customers.

  • Communicate best practices, audit results, and quality trends.

    Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years in semiconductor manufacturing or quality engineering

  • Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Fault Detection Control (FDC)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.

  • Experience in gallium nitride and gallium arsenide wafer manufacturing.

  • Ability to demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles.

  • Ability to participate in and lead cross functional teams.

  • Ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions to drive meaningful results.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Experience leading 8D projects and working with 8D methodology.

  • Experience working with DoD customers such as Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
