Responsibilities*

Opens, closes and maintains clinic schedules for DFA Perio providers. Schedules surgeries including surgery requiring IV sedation and other patient appointments, coordinating with other offices or departments when necessary. Requests prior authorizations, enters treatment codes (including oral medicine ICD-10 codes) and charges reconciles cash and credit card payments. Requests predeterminations from insurance companies, documenting them when they are received. Manages all aspects of DFA referrals, internal and external. Answers calls and voicemails, schedules as appropriate or triages to appropriate place. Goes over treatment plans and treatment costs with patient.

Registers new patients, checks in and checks out patients, rotates covering at information desk/front desk area as appointed. Register's patient insurance.

Supports Grad Perio front desk as needed. Supports and interacts with faculty, staff and students. Works daily and monthly reports, provides information to administration in POM as needed.

Required Qualifications*

High School Diploma or GED, prior experience performing complex scheduling, ability to prioritize work according to deadlines and ability to multi-task. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting. Communicates effectively. Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain regular attendance in order to complete the responsibilities of the position.

Desired Qualifications*

Knowledge of advanced dental terminology, knowledge of MiDent, dental billing and coding.
