Summary
The School of Information (UMSI) is seeking a Research Administration Associate. You will help guide faculty through the administrative maze of proposal and award requirements so they can focus their efforts where their expertise lies the research itself. As a Research Administration Associate in UMSI, you will be an essential part of our research office during the pre- and post-award grant process. You will report to the Director of Research Administration at UMSI. UMSI is a progressive, interdisciplinary professional school offering a Bachelor of Science in Information, a Master of Science in Information, a Master of Health Informatics, and a PhD. Responsibilities*
Schedule support for research office-related meetings. Support of research development-related activities.
Assist with routine pre-award activities and functions.
Assist with routine post-award activities and functions.
Assist with compliance items related to research at UMSI (M-Inform, ClinicalTrials.gov, PEERRS, eVerify, Responsible Conduct of Research and Scholarship, and Public Access requirements).
The primary point of contact at UMSI for Human Subject Incentive Payments
Be an active participant in process improvements and development of standard operating procedures, both within the office and as required for the submission, acceptance, management, and closing of certain sponsored activities.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
0-3 years of progressively responsible experience with pre- and post-award administration of grants and contracts.
Familiar with sponsor systems such as research.gov and grants.gov.
Familiar with complex financial and administrative information systems or electronic proposal submission systems, such as eResearch.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Windows and Excel).

Work Schedule
This position has a flexible hybrid schedule. You will have a schedule of 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Work Locations
Our office is located at 105 S. State St. You will be in the office 2-3 days and 2-3 days of remote work. Remote work in this role will be in accordance with the UMSI Remote Work Policy and with supervisor approval. Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending on business needs.
