Ethos Veterinary Health Veterinary Assistant- ICU and Internal Medicine Team in Annapolis, Maryland

Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine and Oncology-Annapolis is looking for a full time veterinary assistant to be part of our hospitalized patient ICU team and internal medicine team. You will be working directly with our senior ICU team to provide exceptional care to our hospitalized patients and provide assistance to our internal medicine technician team. On the ICU side, job duties include walking, feeding, and animal husbandry care for patients being hospitalized for disease processes like diabetic ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, cancer, gastrointestinal diseases, and much more. On the internal medicine side, job duties include patient restraint for abdominal ultrasounds, venipuncture, and other medical procedures. Familiarity with pet behavior, changes in pet status, and good communication skills are a must. Skills and knowledge of basic veterinary medical procedures is helpful. 

At AVIMO-Annapolis, you will work directly with a team of board certified internal medicine and oncology veterinarians. As well a great team of registered and senior veterinary technicians and client service representatives. AVIMO-Annapolis is part of the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center which is the premier veterinary specialty center in the area. Our team works directly with the other specialty services like surgery, neurology, cardiology, eye care, and the AAVEC emergency team. 

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday- day shift 8am-6pm

  • Occasional weekend on-call

Experience:

  • Veterinary Technician Assistant: 2 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent or above (Preferred)

License:

  • Veterinary Assistant Certificate (Preferred but not required)

Work authorization:

  • United States (Required)

  • 32-40
