Job Summary

Supervised Management of small construction projects up to $250K to assure they are completed on schedule and in accordance with contract specifications and UTA standards. Responsible for managing campus construction projects, provide day to day project quality control and for and maintaining accurate construction project records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Facilities Management design group in project programming and developing construction documents.

  • Perform due diligence site investigation in support of proposed project designs.

  • Review Construction Documents prepared by Facilities Management for accuracy, clarity, completeness and constructability.

  • Interacts with contractors, construction inspectors and other university personnel to satisfy requirements of all parties involved during construction including submittals and RFI’s.

  • Coordinate final punch-list walks with users, contractors, and UT Arlington support groups. Acquire project acceptance from users and process project closeout documentation.

  • Drive a UTA owned vehicle.

  • Other functions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of construction project management related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Class “C” Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in construction project management or coordination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • MS Office suite, MS Projects, excel, PlanGrid and other project management software.

  • Solid understanding of the design and construction process.

  • Ability to interact with contractors, construction inspectors, and UT Arlington personnel involved in construction phases of projects.

  • Ability to maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Knowledge of appropriate computer applications.

Other Requirements

  • Requires a careful balance of daily office responsibilities mixed with various construction site attendance needs.

Working Conditions

  • May work in all weather conditions. May work around project related chemical fumes, biohazards, electrical and mechanical hazards.

  • May involve strenuous activities such as lifting and moving of materials, climbing ladders, and performing duties while wearing fall protection and respiratory protection.
