Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to support our dynamic team in Arlington, VA, El Segundo, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL, St Charles, Il, or Titusville, FL ! In this position, you will develop and maintain software products for the next generation.

The Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) organization encompasses a diverse portfolio of mission-critical solutions that Boeing delivers to customers around the world. Our products advance our customers' abilities to protect, connect, and explore from seabed to space with integrated mission focused solutions.

The Digital Navigator Product Suite is an integrated, web based and real time Single Source of Truth platform. The platform is designed to support data driven decision making and cultural transformation by delivery of scalable AI/Data platforms and high value analytics products and services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Works across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.

  • Develops new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.

  • Assumes leadership of new projects, from conceptualization to deployment

  • Ensures application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.

  • Architects and provides guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.

  • Engages with designers and front-end engineers and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs.

  • Collaborates across time zones via Teams, Mattermost, GitHub, documents, and frequent videoconferences.

  • Influences, innovates, and continuously improves the software engineering process as well as quality, safety and reliability of products and services provided by Boeing.

  • Collaborates proactively with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports to understand operational and performance expectations.

  • Cultivates a positive team culture, team motivation

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work 2-3 days a week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud environment

  • 5+ years of experience writing software for data services

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Development experience with a modern JavaScript-based web application front end framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.

  • 5+ years of experience with web applications and hand-writing code for programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PERL

  • 5+ years of experience with web service integrations (REST/SOAP APIs).

  • 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker containers, and Ansible

  • Experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.

  • 1+ years’ experience leading a software development project or team.

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
