Amazon Sr. Business Process Manager, AFX - BPO in Arlington, Virginia

Within AWS, Business & Product Operations (BPO) is a diverse team of professionals that supports sales and business operations activities for the Sales, Marketing, and Global Services organizations. The Sr. Business Process Manager role will play a critical role for the BPO organization by overseeing and/or leading strategic and automation initiatives to optimize the team’s daily operations and customer experience. This candidate will specifically partner with product managers, business process managers, and workstream leads in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business processes and bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions.

Candidates must possess the ability and experience in leading a portfolio of projects or products, providing direction in product strategies, driving stakeholder alignment, and leading others through the successful implementation of large-scale initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen and possess excellent project management abilities. They will focus on understanding the business processes, creating actionable insights, and conducting product/tech research to provide recommendations to the leadership team on opportunities to enhance or build scalable solutions to meet business needs. They will have passion for problem-solving, be an independent innovator comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead and/or support large, cross-functional projects and products that serve major parts of the organization.

• Lead and/or oversee the organization’s automation roadmap.

• Lead and/or oversee project and product management lifecycles, including conducting related activities expected from leading initiatives end-to-end (documenting business requirements and translating into comprehensive system designs and process models, leading UAT, change management, etc.)

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the business and technical teams.

• Lead and/or facilitate discussions, workshops, and presentations to ensure clear and effective communication of ideas and solutions.

• Write business proposals and other narratives in support of the organization’s initiatives.

• Proactively identify and solve complex issues, including collaborating with multiple stakeholders on resolution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Project management certification

  • 7+ years of experience in a business analyst, business process management, project management, or product management role, ideally in a lead role.

  • 7+ years of experience with business analysis methodologies and frameworks like Agile, Six Sigma.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Experience with go-to-market strategies

  • Strong understanding of business processes, requirements gathering, data analysis, and solution design

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business and tech teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
