Location/Division Specific Information

This position is a leader in the Laboratory Equipment Supply Chain team. Located in Asheville, North Carolina or in Frederick, Maryland, the position will participate in a collaborative culture that unites rich resources and deep scientific expertise to drive better customer service, improved revenue and margin for the business.

The Senior Manager, Demand and Hub Planning, NA, is responsible for developing and implementing the Demand Plan and inventory plans that will enable the company to meet sales and service objectives through collaboration with Product Management, Sales and Customer Support teams. You will:

  • Define and implement operational objectivesthat will deliver business KPIs

  • Demonstrate strong managerial proficiency and drive shorter-term (1-2 years) functional results. You will lead a team of hub planners.

  • Build and align the unconstrained demand forecast with the Commercial and Product Management teams to ensure sign off of the consensus forecast

  • Drive improved forecast accuracy and increased order fulfillment

  • Align on product allocation with Product Management

  • Communicate constraints and allocations to the BU, customer and sales teams (Regional level)​

  • Lead the SIOP Demand Review meetings and bridge the regional demand plan to regional financial plan​

  • Define the inventory and supply planning parameters for the Hub location (Regional) ​

  • Drive the product segmentation and alignment with Commercial to decide on the right supply chain setup (Global)​

  • Communicate lead times and order status to customer care

  • Support network strategy as required

  • Support the annual AOP and STRAP process

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years related experience, with 3 plus years of people management experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in ERP/MRP Planning systems, including all relevant planning parameters such as inventory controls, replenishment, warehouse management and procurement functionality in ERP and best-of-breed software solutions is strongly preferred

  • Full understanding of area of specialization; resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.

  • Applying knowledge of business practices, methodologies, and/or principles to achieve short-term goals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong understanding of concepts of demand planning, inventory management and distribution planning as well as inventory flow throughout the supply chain.

  • Strong customer service focus.

  • Ability to develop scenarios inventory, capacity and product availability to drive better business decisions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Good problem solving and reasoning skills to deal with complex problems.
