Ohio University Special Projects Coordinator in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s Office of the Dean at Ohio University invites applications for the full-time position of Special Projects Coordinator.

The Special Projects Coordinator manages special projects on behalf of the Dean including communications initiatives and alumni and donor engagement events and opportunities. The Special Projects Coordinator also provides leadership in the planning and organization of meetings, guest lectures, and events. In this role, the coordinator will work closely with colleagues in University Communications and Marketing ( UCM ) and University Advancement including the Ohio University Alumni Association ( OUAA ).

Responsibilities include:

Project Management – Serve as a project leader for communications initiatives and other special projects as assigned by Dean, including working with UCM on project timelines and gathering information from college stakeholders.

Alumni Society Support – Lead the launch and activation of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Alumni Society, including working with UCM and OUAA on the development of a recruitment and engagement plan, coordinating opportunities for society members to mentor students, and ensuring regular communication with society members.

Executive Communications– Provide executive communications leadership for the Dean as needed, including the development of presentations, drafting remarks for events, and coordinating with UCM on the creation of external messages from the Dean to various audiences.

Event Planning – Provide leadership for the Dean’s office in the planning of college events including significant engagement events such as facility grand openings and alumni events, as well as internal and external meetings, guest lectures and student events as needed. This includes managing logistics, invitations, registrations, event space selection and design, and the creation of promotional materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Project Management, or related field.

At least three years of related work experience.

At least one year of management experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
