Position Summary

The Credentialed Medical Assistant ( CMA ) will primarily be responsible for providing community-based, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care. While maintaining a safe environment, the CMA will effectively communicate with patients to collect information while utilizing technology to provide patients with quality medical care and stellar customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE : Minimum of one (1) year of related clinical experience.

EDUCATION : High school diploma required.

A current valid certification as a Medical Assistant is also required ( CMA , RMA , NCMA , or CCMA ).

Knowledge of aseptic/sterile techniques and wound care.

Skilled in administering medications.

Skilled in triaging patient records and maintaining inventories.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to utilized computer/web-based technologies such as MS Office suite, electronic medical records ( EMR ), and patient portals

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years of college education or an Associates Degree preferred.

One (1) year of OB/ GYN CMA experience.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Tasks will include patient care intake, preparation, tests and referrals, clinical duties as appropriate, and supporting the health care delivery of MHC .

  • Perform patient care tasks and selected therapies as delegated by a licensed professional, including patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement.

  • Function clinically in ambulatory, telehealth and community settings as assigned.

  • Assists with daily clinical operations and routine administrative and clinical protocols applicable to an ambulatory clinic setting.

  • Conduct intake, triages and prepares patients for examination and/or specialty procedures.

  • Responsible for processing of patients’ referrals (urgent and non-urgent), tests, medications, and surgery expeditiously. Pre-authorization is managed in a timely manner to ensure reimbursement is returned.

  • Maintains accurate tracking log and record electronically all referrals received with their dispositions for Quality Assurance purposes.

  • Knowledge of exam room and patient preparation procedures.

  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and procedures.

  • Knowledge of basic point-of-care testing techniques and procedures

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
