Southern Company Financial Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia
JOB SUMMARY
This position is in the SCS Treasury organization, located at the Southern Company Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities are to provide ongoing analytical support for credit analysis, collateral management, financing compliance and support for other Treasury activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields is required.
Minimum of 3 months of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and maintain positive customer/client relationships
Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with business units and Operating Companies
Strong analytical skills. Familiarity with counterparty credit review and analysis is a plus
Must have hands on experience using Microsoft Suite or comparable products.
Ideal candidate will have Excel experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist business units in assessing counterparty credit
Support credit manager with collateral monitoring, management and reporting using credit software
Maintain routine credit reports for the entire system
Assist business units with contract negotiations
Support management of short-term financing and bank group management
Prepare bank fee reports and consolidated credit reports in PowerBI
Support financing compliance
Maintain constructive relationships with all constituents
