Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Atlanta, Georgia
Description We are offering a role within the procurement industry located in Atlanta, Georgia. The position centers around aiding our purchasing team, primarily with procurement tasks such as turning requirements into purchase orders and liaising with suppliers. You will also be working on-site from Monday to Friday, with the convenience of free parking. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting the buyer in procurement tasks, to ensure smooth operations
• Converting requirements into purchase orders for effective order tracking
• Communicating with suppliers to maintain strong relationships and ensure timely delivery of orders
• Utilizing ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and other ERP solutions for efficient procurement processes
• Handling procurement-related inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service
• Using Microsoft Excel and other software like IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and NetSuite for organizing and managing procurement data
• Participating in buying processes and component selection to ensure quality and value
• Ensuring efficiency in procurement activities through the use of tools like 'About Time'
• Collaborating with the team in decision-making processes related to procurement. Requirements • Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with About Time software
• Previous role as a Buyer or similar position
• Understanding of Buying Processes and Component Selection
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Attention to detail and good organizational abilities
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related field is preferred
• Proven experience in a purchasing role in a fast-paced environment.
