Actalent Quality Control Laboratory Technician in Atlanta, Georgia

IMMEDIATE NEED for Quality Control Lab Technician for leading consumer products company in Atlanta, GA!

Description:

Quality Test Technician will be supporting the mechanical lab for the writing division. Will be doing mostly tension and compression testing measuring different forces on pens/pencils/markers. They work with pencils, pens & markers to determine how the pen comes together.

  • Will be doing performance testing on the dimensions of the pen/pencil/marker, determining how much force it takes to open the pen/pencil/marker, how well a pen clips stays before it breaks etc.

  • Will be operating Instron machine to do product testing, will be writing reports and using excel.

  • They will be working closely with product engineering team.

  • Engineers will complete reading test plans and assign them to techs.

  • Test techs will then be required to complete various tests, report on their tests and then send reports back to engineers once approved.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Open to 0-2 year engineering tech degree, materials science or technical school experience

  • Looking for someone who has hands on quality or quality inspection

  • Nice to have - Metrology

  • Nice to have - experience working in a lab setting doing compression and tension testing

  • Nice to have - Experience with tensile testing

  • Nice to Have - Experience operating an instron machine, with torq measurements, or metrology would be a plus but no required
