Cloud Platform Engineering – Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Atlanta (midtown) or Frisco, TX

Work Style: in office M/Tu/W/Th

Come join our Cloud Platform Engineering team as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer . You will develop, maintain, and enforce cloud adoption standards through an "infrastructure as code" approach towards the provisioning of cloud resources by engineering and solutions teams. You will leverage your leadership experience and technical acumen to help Cloud Platform Engineering realize a vision of empowering software engineering and solution teams to efficiently and reliably deliver and support their solutions to cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

This is highly technical individual contributor role that comes with highly visible technical leadership responsibility.

• Provide technical leadership across multi-cloud platforms (Azure, OCI, GCP AWS)

• Collaborate with Cloud, Network, and Security architects to execute strategic initiatives

• Collaborate with scrum master to develop and groom technical backlogs

• Contribute to continuous improvement and maturity of IAC methodology

• Contribute to development of operational automation and self-service frameworks

• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years equivalent, hands-on, experience

• Professional experience and success working with Terraform and related Infrastructure As Code technology

• Professional experience and success working with Hashicorp Packer to create "golden images"

• Professional experience with provisioning and configuring Azure Cloud resources

• Experience with cloud-based CI/CD Pipeline development, particularly GitHub Actions, Argo, Flux

• Experience operating, supporting, and troubleshooting complex mission-critical applications on a cloud platform

• Experience following modern IT practices influencing Change, Configuration, Release and/or development

• Experience with industry standard SRE/DevOps technologies (e.g. GitHub, Terraform, Artifactory, Ansible, Helm, CI/CD Pipeline tools, etc.)

• Experience working with DevOps/SRE principles & Agile (Scrum) methodologies; general understanding of both

• Capable of technical deep dives into cloud-based infrastructure, databases, and application, specifically in designing, coding, operating, and supporting high-performance, highly available services

• Experience dealing with common networking/internet concepts: firewalls, NAT, DNS, SMTP, load-balancing

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications :

• Previous experience in a technical lead or senior role

• Professional experience with data center to cloud migration

• Professional experience with provisioning and configuring Oracle Cloud resources

• Professional experience with provisioning and configuring Google Cloud resources

• Professional experience with provisioning and configuring AWS resources

• Professional experience and success creating and maintaining standardized containers

• Experience implementing and supporting emerging GitOps IAC approaches, like Crossplane, Spacelift, Terraform controllers

• Professional experience configuring and managing Kubernetes, particularly AKS, GKS, EKS.

• Professional experience working in regulated environments (PCI)
