Job Summary

This role provides leadership and market expertise to drive the growth, profitability and increased market share of Sustainable Systems offerings (including high efficiency HVAC systems, thermal energy storage, electrification of heating, next generation refrigerants) through the Trane field business. The scope is primarily in the Eastern United States. The role will support the field sales, sales management, and fulfillment team efforts through the field leadership teams to develop and implement standard work practices for strategic growth initiatives.

This role has been designated as “Remote within a Geography” preferred location Atlanta, GA. Must reside within the Southeastern United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction, leads the deployment of overall strategic growth strategies, including but not limited to: cross selling across our businesses, sales management disciplines, sales processes and sales training required to achieve strategic initiative objectives

  • Drives growth of volume and margin objectives by coaching and supporting Area General Managers, Local Sales Managers and sales professionals on the market planning process, market coverage strategy of customers (owners, contractors and consultants), portfolio selling strategies and collaborating with other Trane teams to provide differentiated solutions

  • Works with Trane support organization to develop and deliver training on value propositions to maximize new customer capture and hit rates

  • Ensures the local market size and sales capacity requirements are understood and that planned staffing activities occur to cover targeted accounts

  • Provides direction and support to Area General Managers and Local Sales Managers that results in the achievement of the planned business results for strategic growth initiatives

  • Coaches Area General Managers and Local Sales Managers to remove waste through use of metrics, KPI's and best practices that results in increased productivity

  • Supports Learning and Development, HR and Commercial Sales operations to ensure staffing activities occur including recruiting, selection, development and succession

  • Coaches Area General Managers and Local Sales Managers to develop decarbonization opportunity sales pipeline, ensures opportunities are strategically pursued

  • Works with experts in an area of concentration by vertical market, ex: K-12, Commercial Real Estate, Higher Ed, State & Local Government, Healthcare, etc

  • Collaborates with Sales Managers, Product Managers and Operational Leadership to ensure local markets have required support and subject matter expertise for growth

  • Leads growth programs and key initiatives, provides competitive intelligence, best practice sharing, development of local market training programs

  • Facilitates the Area General Managers and Local Sales Managers in account segmentation process and assignment of key, target, managed and maintained consultant, contractor, and owner accounts

  • Drives monthly/quarterly/annual sales performance to plan and forecast

  • Inspects local market forecast KPIs, offers related support and coaching

  • Supports securing large/strategic projects in forecast, including closing activities, and price level coaching

  • Responsible for using CRM/SalesForce and sales analytics to bring insight to Area General Managers and Local Sales Managers to improve our chance to win projects, increase sales activity and also improve sales performance overall

  • Drive high level customer relationship and interaction including being a leadership sponsor for appropriate key accounts, as well as facilitating customer showcase and factory visits

  • Supports local marketing efforts, including regional and local trade shows, participation in relevant industry associations, advertising, and public relations

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of experience in Sales management, preferably in the construction space

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the HVAC marketplace and account management

  • Relationships with key players in the market

Annual Base Pay Range - $146,000 - $300,00

Disclaimer: This pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan.
