The Role:

Lead Laboratory Assistant

The Opportunity:

We have a great team of committed and engaged Techs and Lab Assistants that work incredibly well together with all of the latest analyzers and technology for the best patient results and ease of workflows.

MaineGeneral Health is a CAP-accredited, 24/7 laboratory responsible for conducting over 1 million tests annually for the central Maine community. The Work:

  • Provide monitoring, coaching, and evaluation of team members' performance, especially in the areas of productivity and quality management.

  • Serve as a positive role model by working with team members to promote teamwork and cooperation.

  • Assist with coordinating services, prioritizing assignments and workflow, and promoting situational decision-making/problem-solving.

  • Perform responsibilities of the underlying job. Take responsibility for or guide team members on the handling of complex or novel issues.

  • Prioritize multiple tasks and workflows to ensure timely completion and quality services.

  • Some employees in this job may operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.

    You Have:

  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred. State licensure if required by law.

  • Valid Maine state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by MGH policy required and Department of Transportation Annual Motor Vehicle Record Check

  • An organized and detailed approach to work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and be flexible with changing priorities.
