In the Principal Satellite Ground Systems Planning/Scheduling Software Engineer role, you will perform planning and scheduling but also design, develop, and test Java code in a Linux, Agile, DevOps environment. We are at the forefront of aerospace and defense technology. Our Satellite Ground Systems Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring communication, surveillance, and defense capabilities through cutting-edge satellite systems. What You Will Do
Plan/schedule tasks and also design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems.
Work in close collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable and high-performance software solutions.
Design, implement, and test Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
Work in a systems Model Based Systems Engineering Architecture (MBSE) role
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
Work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary.
Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of their immediate supervisor.
Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts.

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience working the planning and scheduling of satellites using ground systems
Experience in systems engineering related to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and architecture
Software development experience using Java in both Windows and Linux
Agile software development experience.
Software architecture and algorithm development experience.
Cyber Security experience
Experience with software automated test tools such as Eggplant (or equivalent).
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Nine (9) years experience within the GPS OCX enterprise.
Experience working external interface development and integration efforts, algorithm design, display designs, and working both front end and back end software products.
Experience using Cameo Enterprise for large scale programs.
Experience using the Atlassian tool suite.
Software development technical leadership experience.
Superb interpersonal and presentation skills.
Knowledge of inter-software messaging busses and software frameworks.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
