TECHNICIAN - VEHICLE TESTING OPERATIONSPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES* Responsible for performing emissions test procedures on vehicle chassisdynamometers and using other specialized test equipment such as SHEDs* Responsible for monitoring the accuracy and quality of all test datagenerated* Responsible for the installation of vehicles into the test cell,installing instrumentation, setting up the test control interface, andmaintenance of various measurement devicesREPORTING LINE* Reports to the Lead Vehicle TechnicianSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES* At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct* High attention to detail and highly professional appearance* Prepare, refuel, install and setup vehicles as necessary for testing* Follow documented procedures to properly execute test plans* Perform initial data quality checks* Configure test site for safe and optimal testing* Become proficient at using the test cell automation systems* Setup data channel configurations and test profiles; save data files inthe specified formats* Assist facility and instrumentation engineers to maintain emissionsanalyzers and ensure plumbing, air supply, and fuel supply are adequatefor each test configuration* Conduct vehicle maintenance and component changes* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters ofsignificance* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance* Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedule(s) as necessary* Other duties and responsibilities may be assignedQualifications:PROFILE* Associates degree (or equivalent experience)* Experience in engine or vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostictroubleshooting* Skilled use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel* Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedule (s) as necessary* Effective at communicating operational issues and test quality issues toengineers and managersREQUIRED SKILLS* High level of integrity, ethics, and drive towards customer service withstrong poise, tact, and diplomacy* Strong orientation towards teamwork* Strong Verbal .and. Written Communication skills* Desire to work in fast paced, rapidly changing and results' orientedenvironment* High ability to manage time to prioritize competing tasks and demands beingable to successfully resolve them* Conduct vehicle performance and emissions tests in collaboration with anengineer* Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implementresolutions with minimal guidance* Able to use motorized equipment to move vehicles and materials.* Able to bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs. stand or sit for up to two hours* Use basic hand and power tools to maintain vehicles and laboratory equipment* Use a MS Windows based computer including MS Word, Excel, Outlook andcustom software* Able to read and interpret data to participate in data quality review andtroubleshooting activitiesHEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES:* Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy worksite* Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS HSE Policies, Procedures, and WorkInstructions by participating in safety meetings, completing requiredtraining, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, andcomplying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSE* Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staffmembers in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within theworkplace* In accordance with the SGS HSE Management System requirements, disposesof, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily workperformed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation anddisposal regulations and requirements.* Reports all incidents (actuals and near misses) in accordance with theSGS Incident Reporting requirements* Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner int endedand reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor* Maintain a safe and tidy worksite* Maintains awareness of hazards / proposes controls to supervisor,
