HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION Manager V - Audit Management Manager in Austin, Texas

Job/Position DescriptionThe Medicaid and CHIP Services Innovation and Process Improvement Team is seeking a dynamic leader to guide the Audit Management Team. Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Process Improvement, the Audit Management Manager will drive governance processes related to audit coordination and resolution across Medicaid and CHIP Services (MCS), and provide overall vision and support strategic initiatives related to federal, state, internal, and independent audits, reviews, and inspections. The Audit Management Manager will oversee a team performing work related to audits in progress, development of management responses and updates, and resolution of finding-related initiatives and corrective action measures to meet critical deadlines. The Audit Management Team focuses on collaboration, risk identification, and problem resolution related to audit and review-related findings. The ideal candidate is a positive and forward-thinking leader who has experience with audit processes and coordination, as well as knowledge of Medicaid and CHIP business processes. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker with demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders. The Innovation and Process Improvement Team offers hybrid work schedules balancing days in the office with the team and days working remotely.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Oversees activities related to federal, state, internal, and independent audits, reviews, and inspections. This includes work related to audits in progress, development of management responses and updates, and resolution of finding-related initiatives and corrective action measures to meet critical deadlines. (25%)Leads the work of a team of project managers and program specialists including reviewing their work for quality, accuracy, and consistency, and prioritizing the work of these positions to ensure timelines are met. (20%) Facilitates the audit governance structure, including processes, oversight groups, and reporting. (20%)Works in collaboration with the Director of Innovation and Process Improvement to develop standardized tools for risk assessment and appropriate business solutions to mitigate that risk - i.e. new processes, policies, or technology. (10%)Facilitates understanding of MCS program areas, policies, governing regulations, and procedures with internal and external auditors. (10%) Edits and reviews audit responses and other program documents; oversees preparation of administrative and program reports, including managing inquiries and assignments relating to audits, internal initiatives, and agency-wide assignments as well as other activities within the department.
