Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together.

The Experience Design team is responsible for designing innovative, best-in-class solutions across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. We are a multi-disciplinary group of product designers, content strategists, and researchers who collaborate with business and technology partners across the enterprise to build exceptional digital experiences for millions of passionate clients. Our clients are passionate about the tools and experiences we provide, and we are equally passionate to build the future of financial services.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Content Strategist to join our UX Mobile Design team and deliver against all native mobile app experiences across iOS and Android platforms. The senior content strategist advocates for the clients who use our mobile products as well as the members of their teams. They are driven by data and research to deliver business outcomes and are committed to leading the creation of elegantly designed native mobile app user experiences from otherwise complex workflows.

In this role, you’ll take the time to understand the discovery and delivery side of XD, but also the business aspects of the digital products and mobile solutions we create. You’ll collaborate with leaders of other XD, product, and engineering teams to create innovative experiences across all of Schwab’s native mobile app experiences and products, using your passion for usability, craft, and content quality. Words to describe you: creative, solution-oriented, passionate, collaborative, curious, organized, supportive and pragmatic.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the content design and development of innovative native mobile app design solutions across iOS and Android operating platforms that solve user, product, and business problems

  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to help gain support for native mobile design strategies. You’ll collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to help define and understand project goals, requirements, and constraints

  • Make data-informed content decisions, basing content on digital analytics, user research testing, and stakeholder input

  • Lead content reviews with stakeholders, including UX leaders, as well as product, legal, risk, and compliance partners

  • Advocate for clients and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure content is clear, concise, and conversational

  • Collaborate closely with our XD content team leads, ensuring content complies with all UX writing, accessibility, and legal standards

  • Oversee content development for native mobile applications, from concept to final implementation, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience

  • Apply strategy to balance user needs, business goals, system requirements, and functionality and platform constraints

  • Write crisp, on-brand UX copy for wireframes, prototypes, and financial products

  • Work with an engaged design team that fosters a learning environment

  • Use design thinking and visual tools to innovate and solve problems

  • Develop and maintain a cohesive and tactical content strategy that adjusts to new challenges

What you have

Requirements:

  • 11+ years as a senior interface writer and / or content strategist

  • 5+ years of experience leading mobile and/or app content design

  • Persuasive storytelling abilities to communicate with UX experts and key stakeholders

  • Broad understanding of user experience to effectively advocate on behalf of clients

  • Exceptional skill at writing, creating presentations, and negotiating solutions with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Adept with collaboration tools including Figma and experience with Agile workflow processes and tools

  • Prior experience in finance and/or another heavily regulated field

Preferred Qualifications

  • A positive, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with a diverse team on tough challenges
