Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in Bakersfield, California

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Patient Registration role in the Healthcare/NHS industry, located in Bakersfield, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including registering and pre-registering patients, verifying insurance eligibility and patient demographics, and providing excellent customer service. This role is crucial for the proper functioning of our business unit, and will enhance the productivity and effectiveness of our department.

Responsibilities:

• Register and pre-register patients to ensure accurate and efficient processing

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations to maintain accurate records

• Verify all patient demographics to ensure accurate information is on file

• Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles to ensure financial responsibilities are met

• Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient experience

• Perform secretarial support duties such as answering phones, maintaining files, scheduling appointments, and producing correspondence

• Deal professionally with confidential information

• Maintain accurate records of customer credit applications and accounts

• Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other office functions to maintain organized records and processes. Requirements • Proven experience in customer service roles, preferably within the healthcare sector.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

• Familiarity with office functions, including scheduling appointments and answering inbound calls.

• Competency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software for maintaining patient records and billing functions.

• Ability to provide training to new staff members and conduct presentations when necessary.

• Understanding and adherence to healthcare policies and regulations.

• Experience in supervising a team and ensuring productivity.

• Knowledge of insurance processes, including authorizations, deductibles, and benefit functions.

• Ability to handle billing functions, check processing, and collection processes.

• Proficiency in using HealthCare.gov for patient registration and other related tasks.

• Strong administrative assistance skills to support the smooth running of the office.

• Experience with workstation support and correspondence management.

• Proficiency in 10 Key Skills for data entry purposes.

• Ability to work cohesively within a business unit, contributing to overall goals.

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the healthcare sector.
