Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District Executive Assistant to the Principal- Stevens Elementary School in Ballston Lake, New York

Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Executive Assistant to the Principal to provide administrative support to the Principal and assist with overseeing key student processes and routines at the elementary school level. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with all faculty and staff to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates all lunchroom operations and routines

  • Performs daily lunch and recess supervision

  • Oversees playground/lunchroom monitors and processes

  • Oversees bus procedures for student arrival and dismissal

  • Handles routine student discipline issues, including contacting parents

  • Provides administrative support for the 504 Coordinator

  • Covers classes and duties of absent teachers and teaching assistants as needed

  • Gives morning announcements as needed and appropriate

  • Helps coordinate school assemblies and special events

  • Assists with launch and oversight of after-school activities and tutoring

  • Serves as liaison between PTA and school for arts/education initiatives

  • Coordinates materials and supply orders throughout the year

  • Assists with the organization and implementation of the NYS testing program

  • Assists with supervision at winter and spring concerts

Additional Duties:

  • Performs other leadership and student supervisory duties as assigned by the Principal

  • Works closely with the School Principal with regard to the oversight of student activities, overall student supervision, coordination of classroom activities, and general school oversight

The successful candidate will be provisionally appointed to the position and must therefore meet the minimum qualifications for the job as described in the job description. This position is provisional and will require the candidate to be reachable on a civil service exam that will be offered in the future.

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (A) *Graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Services or a related field; OR

(B) *Graduation with an associate’s degree in Business Administration, Education or a related field and two (2) years of clerical experience in a school district; or

(C) Graduation with a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience as defined by the limits of (B) above.

  • Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
