Our full time Behavior Specialist II works with the people we support and their team of staff at day service and their group home. Through the use of applied behavioral analysis, the Behavior Specialist II determines the causes of a person’s behaviors and develops a behavioral support plan that allows a person to learn skills to better handle stressful situations and communicate their needs. This person also provides training and support to the person’s staff, on how to implement these plans. The people we support have a primary diagnosis of a Developmental Disability such as autism spectrum disorder, or Intellectual Disability. Success in this position can truly make a difference in a person’s life. The starting pay range for this position is $58,500 to $60,000.This position requires:Master’s degree from a program in a clinical or treatment of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology, as it relates to human development and clinical interventions, and documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development;OR a National Board certification in behavioral analysis (BCBA) and a master’s degree in: Behavior analysis or a field closely related to Clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD;OR a New York State license in Mental Health CounselingANDAt least 5 years of experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans/ and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.QualificationsEducation Preferred * Masters or better in Clinical Psychology. * Masters or better in School Psychology. * Masters or better in Social Work.

Minimum Salary: 58,500 Maximum Salary: 60,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
