Job Description Summary

In this role, you will have the direct responsibility & accountability across Onshore Wind for Commissioning site operations Center of Excellence, including Wind Turbine & Scada field commissioning, sub-contractor qualification, electrical, controls. You will support our regional Field Operations teams for continuous improvement and execution excellence leveraging best practices and knowledge as well as supporting training programs activities. You will act as an expert on Commissioning subjects and support improvement initiatives in collaboration with other COEs and Regions as well as Engineering and contractors. In addition, you will also ensure that our field operators have the right training and capabilities to execute operations in a safe and proper way and proper digital systems that afford a seamless execution..

Essential Responsibilities

• Leadership on EHS culture change and execution rigor

• Foster a team environment to facilitate success, focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost of field operations.

• Functional / technical leadership for regional Commissioning & Scada teams supporting the regions for successful execution leveraging knowledge and best practices

• Support Digital Solutions implementation and maintenance and act as a point of contact with Digital Technologies dept for improvements on tools.

• Interact with Regions and Resource leaders as well as contractors to ensure the portfolio resource allocation is fulfilled by trained and capable resources to meet safety & on-time delivery standards

• Technical Focal Point for LOTO procedures development, review.

• Review of Procurement & Maintenance Contracts.

• Document lessons learned & standardize processes across International.

• Strong cooperation with project management, Field Ops COE’s and service regions / areas

• Work closely with Engineering for development / improvement on Commissioning initiatives (Wind Turbine / WindScada)

• Development, Review and Implementation of training programs with regards to Commissioning standards.

• Support Sales / Commercial teams with project walks and support for estimating process.

• Lead Audits on Commissioning subject matters.

• Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, process discipline and digitization tools to optimize site performance.

Qualifications – Requirement

• Degree-level education in Engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent qualification with significant professional experience

• Demonstrated track-record and significant experience in general & people leadership with proven results with regards to Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost

• Proven experience in Wind field operations and/or Electrical & Controls Engineering

• Extended knowledge about business administration & field operations

• Structured, process-driven approach with strong planning skills

• Demonstrated change management skills including leading change to processes & guidelines

• Ability to communicate effectively internally at all levels of the organization and externally with suppliers/customers

• 40-60% flexibility to travel. Availability to travel on demand to locations within the International region

• Fluent in English

Desired Requirements

• Master's Degree in Engineering

• Previous experience as Wind Commissioning Engineer/Manager and/or Wind Turbine/Scada Controls Engineer.

• General Knowledge in relevant EHS and Quality regulations & procedures.

• Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple complex projects

• Understanding of key business drivers, financials, and commercial activities

• Customer service skills and mindset

• Applied knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Management.

• Intercultural awareness and experience working with multiple countries & cultures

• Avid user & fast learner of digital tools

• Capability for working at heights.

• Assertive approach and drive to achieve goals.

• Demonstrated ability to succeed in a matrix environment

• Additional language(s) spoken across International region

This position is open for Spain, Germany and USA application and will be based in a GE Vernova office.
