Leads and oversees activities related to the establishment of finance policies and controls as well as general administration, and functional performance improvement across the entire function; also provides operations management with interpretive and predictive financial information to make business performance assessments and capital investment decisions through the use of sensitivity, pro forma and cause-and-effect analysis.

Chevron Venezuela Finance organization, located in Barcelona, Estado Anzoátegui, Venezuela, is accepting online applications for the position of Accounting Analyst. Successful candidate will join a team which oversees Petroindependencia Joint Venture with a workforce of more than 15 employees delivering financial services and solutions in Eastern Venezuela directly linked to the Chevron Venezuela organization.

This is a one-year fixed term position with possibility of remaining permanent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial and accounting decision support for Petroindependencia Joint Venture, the selected candidate will perform Petroindependencia activities in a PDVSA environment.

  • Perform accounting activities for Petroindependencia Joint Venture.

  • Perform the monthly close processes into SAP (PC3).

  • Develops and maintains the necessary account mapping for Petroindependencia reporting and statutory accounts.

  • Prepare accounting processes: general accounting, intercompany, materials, fixed assets, account payables and treasury.

  • Support External Audits.

  • Provide inputs to Reporting team in charge of prepare company financial results.

  • Support Internal Control requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Accounting.

  • At least 5 years of experience in finance/accounting.

  • Strong analytical and SAP technical skills.

  • Must be proficient in English.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a crossed-discipline and diverse environment.

  • Teamwork and customer service focus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile, Excel modeling and Power MS applications experience is a plus.

  • Joint Venture experience
