Chevron Venezuela is accepting online applications for the position of Contract Advisor.

The position executes Chevron P/SCM's contracting process. Selects the appropriate contracting strategy, develop scopes of work, compensation structure, and contracting vehicle (e.g. Contract, Purchase Order, P-card) to effectively manage business risk. Identifies and qualifies potential material and service providers and oversees bidding, bid evaluation and contract award. Works closely with Legal and Subject Matter Experts to ensure contract compliance through the contract life-cycle (contract planning, execution, post award management, and claims mitigation).

Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Annual contracting plan / contract strategy aligned with business plan and budget; market analysis; identify risk; potential suppliers & award basis.

  • Initiating a contracting process: Identify leverage opportunities; review scope of work and compensation schedule; perform supplier due diligence : HES / compliance / Information Protection and finance capabilities. Select the contract model. Contract strategy.

  • Sourcing Process: Prepare tender package; Evaluation criteria; issue tender package and manage inquiries; evaluate tender response and negotiate.

  • Prepare contract, obtain approvals, and execute a contract.

  • Post Award contract process: Start up contracts, monitor contract (spend, expiration dates, risk mitigation actions, communications), Contract changes Amendment ( dates, scope, prices ), contract Termination.

Required Qualifications

  • BachelorĀ“s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.

  • At least 3 years of experience in SCM process.

  • Must be proficient in English. Written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Analytic and Proficient in digital tools (Microsoft software, Power Bi, Power app)

  • Teamwork and customer service focus (Capacity to provide response to several end users).

  • Basic understanding of the contracting risk philosophy

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in SCM process: sourcing process, unit price analysis and negotiation. Experience with any SCM system.

  • SCM Knowledge- Experienced with supply chain practices and understanding of how contracting supports Category Management and Invoice Processing.

  • Unit price analysis / Cost management
