**IMMEDIATE OPENING**

Janitor Position

Cleaning and light maintenance are needed.15-20 hr./wk. year-round, more hours during school vacations for cleaning. Work must be accomplished when students are absent (5 PM-4 AM). Tuition reduction benefit for dependent children and grandchildren enrolled in our program. Must be able to lift to 65 pounds and work with cleaners18 yrs. and older. Experience preferred. Must pass required background checks and safety training.

Janitor Duties and Expectations

Under the general supervision of the Principal, the Custodian has the primary responsibility for cleaning the school in such a way as to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. It is the role of the custodian to follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules including, but not limited to, the classrooms, kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, and entrances. The custodian follows the cleaning schedule when the children are not in the school so no interference with their care occurs. The custodian may also be responsible for performing additional duties not stipulated below. These additional duties may include general building and grounds maintenance, etc.

1. Follows and completes the school\'s daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule. These duties include vacuuming all carpeting daily.

1. Collect and bag all garbage from the school, placing the tied bags in the dumpster.
2. Disinfect and clean garbage and trashcans and change bags daily.
3. Washes and sanitizes bathroom fixtures daily with germicidal solution, including wiping down stall walls.
4. Using germicidal solution, wet mop all washable floors in kitchen and bathroom daily; office and classroom weekly.
5. Washes bathroom, kitchen, classroom, and other windows (inside and outside) and walls using germicidal solution as scheduled or needed.
6. Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily.
7. Dusts, washes, and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in the schedule.
8. Performs other cleaning duties as specified in the schedule.
9. Refills paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, and hand soap in all dispensers.
10. Change light bulbs, as needed.
11. Reports the following to the principal or designated staff person: Participates in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested.
12. Presence of animals, vermin, or insects.
13. Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance.
14. Water leaks, and other maintenance needs.
15. All other health and safety hazards noticed

Attends and participates in pre-service and in-service training as necessary; takes the required online training, including diocesan Safe Environment training, Virtus.

Schedule: CLASSROOMS/OFFICES/HALL

Floor Covering

Carpeted floors will be vacuumed every other day.

Vinyl tiled floors will be dust mopped daily.

Vinyl tiled floors will be mopped weekly.

Walk-off mats will be vacuumed/swept every other day.

Walls/Wall Coverings

Dust and remove smudges and fingerprints monthly.

Ceilings

Cobwebs shall be removed weekly.

Replace burned-out light bulbs as needed but no later than three working days.

Windowsills

Remove cobwebs weekly.

Dust and wash all sills weekly.

Trash Receptacles

Trash shall be emptied daily

Clean trash receptacle weekly

RESTROOMSFloors will be mopped daily.

Cobwebs shall be removed weekly.

Replace burned-out light bulbs as needed but no later than three working days.

Windowsills will be dusted and cleansed weekly.

Fixtures (sinks) will be cleaned daily and wiped down with a disinfectant.

Plumbing fixtures around sinks will be cleaned daily with a disinfectant.

Urinals

Plumbing fixtures wil be cleaned daily with disinfectant.

The entire urinal will be wiped down with disinfectant.

Toilets

The entire toilet including the base and both sides of the seat will be wiped down daily with disinfectant.

Walls/Accessories

Soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers should be filled daily.

Mirrors shall be cleaned as needed.

Partitions will be wiped down daily.

Ceilings

Cobwebs shall be removed weekly.

Replace burned-out light bulbs as needed but no later than three working days.

Trash Receptacles

Trash shall be emptied daily.

Clean receptacles weekly.
