Job Description

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide.

The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.In applying for this position, you acknowledge your awareness that the position is a part of the Pharma Solutions business unit and has been identified to transition to Roquette.

Position Purpose:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic InternationalTrade Compliance Leaderto join our team. As a Trade Compliance Leader you are responsible for managing (organizing, coordinating, and executing) International Trade activities for the company, giving support and guidance to SBU´s on issues related to international trade laws and regulations across Brazil and Mexico.

Functional Responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Lead implementation of standard / best practices logistics processes, tools, and initiatives.

  • Develop Training Program on International Trade for CSRs, customs brokers and other related areas to operate according to company procedures and in any new local or global requirement, process or procedure.

  • Participate actively in different Chambers/ Associations to understand the current scenario of International trade business, anticipating future changes that may affect I/E compliance. Execute new procedures to avoid any disruption in regular International trade operations for all legal entities.

  • Interact with all Import / Export Services Providers as Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, Government Agencies, Chemical and Industry Associations

  • Manage HS classification and INCOTERMS trainings

  • Ensure regulatory compliance within import/export area by:

  • Providing import/export non-conformance and conformance

  • Defining/working on a plan to reduce import/export non-conformance

  • Reinforcing our Sox control policy

  • Administer the services/activities of the customs brokers and act as a liaison between the businesses and the brokers. Control Contracts of Customs Brokers

  • Manage potential legal issues related to import/export operations.

  • Lead improvement project/initiative related to import/export area

  • Work aligned with accounts payable Dpt. For the correct flow for Imports/exports expenses.

  • Improve integration of Logistics with Supply Chain, focus on Savings in international trade operations by:

  • Identifying potential savings for International Trade operations,

  • Negotiating spot rates with carriers and forwarders locally.

  • Manage/enable Special Regimes Duty Drawback/ Free Trade Zone

  • Work with legal regarding sensitive destinations, embargoed countries' policies, and restricted end-use/end-user requirements. Understand the procedure and when it needs to be escalated

Knowledge, skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, International, Logistics, or related area is required

  • Fluency in English

  • Familiarity with customs regulations, export requirements, HTS classifications, and value requirements pertinent to the SBU

  • Knowledgeable about SBU product line, supply chain, and customers

  • Familiarity with the application of import/export operations and international documentation

  • The ability to work independently and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and business SAP system skills are required

  • Superior Excel spreadsheet proficiency is required, along with experience in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint).
