Nestlé Purina PetCare Company seeks a Senior Expert Engineer in Batavia, OH
Duties: Plan the technical side of an investment project ensuring a design for manufacturing excellence and lead the execution by managing a cross-functional team whose objective is to oversee the capital investments relating to the company's fixed assets. Support the End to End Project Manager in defining the project team, project scope, success criteria and milestone deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Ensure available standards and best practices, as well as understanding of current category loss tree are revised as part of the project planning, to ensure that project design credit (AIP) will be efficiently utilized. Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on local regulations, the defined machine specifications, and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation. Ensure, by design, worker and operator safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant. Support the CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification) of the assets as designed as well as lead the team and coordinate the contribution of all the stakeholders, to ensure that the fixed asset side of the project is implemented in accordance with the defined category standards, timing, cost and quality. Prepare and distribute the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report, the Project Defect Analysis (PDA) and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field plus 10 years of experience in the job offered or in pet food manufacturing. Required experience must include each of the following:
- 10 years of manufacturing project management.
- 10 years of experience in capital investment projects management within the food manufacturing industry.
- 10 years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) principles.
- 10 years of experience in factory operations.
- 10 years of experience in people development and management tools including People Development & Performance (PDP).
- 10 years of experience in coaching, competences training, career and succession planning, and recruitment and development within food manufacturing.
- 10 years of experience in CAD drawing review and approval for BFD, PFD and P&ID including general arrangement drawings, 3D models, and isometric reviews.
- 10 years of Capital Budget experience for projects over $100 Mio.
- 10 years of experience in Master Schedule preparation, monitoring and control utilizing digital tools including MP (Microsoft Project Professional).
- 5 years of experience in process modeling.
Domestic and international travel required up to 25% of time.
