System Operations Training Specialist (Distribution)

Job Summary/Purpose

Specialist, System Operations (DSO) is responsible for the administration all phases of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process for the DSO training programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with power delivery operations and training leadership to analyze training needs

  • Design training to meet the needs of operations personnel

  • Develop effective training related to distribution operations center operations

  • Implement training related to DSO topics

  • Administration and record keeping of DSO qualifications

  • Evaluate DSO training program effectiveness

  • Monitor DSO performance, performance indicators, industry trends and best practices to identify possible performance improvement training and initiatives

  • Participate in NERC, SERC and MISO committees that are focused on training

  • Ensure DSO training programs are following applicable NERC standards and requirements

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • High school degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 8+ years system operations or distribution operations experience or 4 years' experience with BS or equivalent degree

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Bulk Electrical System operation and concepts

  • Process and Data Analysis

  • Microsoft and Adobe products

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

  • DSO qualificaiton OR NERC System Operator Certificaiton OR equilivent experience in bulk electrical systems or power delivery operations
