Citigroup Transactional Reporting Expense Analyst in Belfast, United Kingdom

Team Overview

Citi’s Business Expense Transparency Team are responsible for reporting all transactional and Market Data expenses booked for Citi. This includes reporting, analysis and transactional & market data expense optimisation. This role will be focused primarily on the Fixed Income, Currency & Commodity Brokerage expense line for the Citi Markets business.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure payments are allocated to the correct trading desks and businesses

  • Book accruals (estimates) based on trade data to ensure current month expenses are accurately accounted for

  • Trade Analytics & Trend Monitoring – work with trade analytics team to develop enhanced accuracy of expense reporting via integration of VarCiti platform into month end activities.

  • Attend and contribute to monthly review meetings with Trading Desks, Business Chief Accounting Officers, Financial Planning and Action. This includes discussing actual expense results vs plan and historic trends.

What we’ll need from you

  • Experience or a degree in accounting (or other numerical disciplines) is desirable

  • May also be suited to candidates currently studying for an accounting qualification i.e. CIMA/ACCA

  • Good working knowledge of Excel (v lookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables) and the ability to reconcile and analyse large data sets

  • Business Objects experience is an advantage as this is currently used to download one of our sub-ledgers

  • PowerPoint is an advantage as we still compile reporting packs / decks for the business monthly.
