Amazon Principal Program Manager, Relay Fleet Tech in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon is building the next generation of hardware and software products to support our global transportation network. Our team is looking for a Principal Program Manager to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional technology projects and programs to support Amazon’s transportation network worldwide.

Relay Fleet Tech owns hardware and software products for telematics, asset management and maintenance, visibility, and reusables for Middle Mile. Our primary customers are carriers, fleet operations, planning and optimization, sort-tech, and loss prevention teams. If you get excited about solving complex and impactful problems at scale, this role is for you.

To be successful you need to be flexible and entrepreneurial. You are a true owner - you are passionate about working across teams to deliver hardware and software programs and innovate on behalf of our customers. You ideally have experience delivering multiple cross-functional programs, and are excited to think-out-of-the box to solve complex problems and keep launches on track.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage new and existing technology programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations

  • Track cross-team dependencies, manage the operations schedule and requirements

  • Collaborate with engineering and product leaders and create program structure to track system-level goals, software and hardware development and cross-functional dependencies

  • Work with cross-functional teams to create project plans and incremental milestones for Operations, Software, and Hardware development

  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), escalating as appropriate

  • Work directly with external providers, customers, tech teams, and operations teams to build and deliver scalable programs

  • Partner with engineering, product, and program teams to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones and drive delivery

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 7+ years of program or project management experience

  • 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Bachelor's degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field

  • Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems

  • Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
