This role in summary

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Systems Integrator, Electrical Engineering to join our team. This position will be responsible for developing Concepts and Design Requirements for Electrical and Electronic systems to be used on home appliances in the Laundry domain. This role will work closely with a team of Software Engineers, Electrical/Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Communications Engineers, and Requisition Engineers located globally and will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes, and utilize expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Your responsibilities will include

Manage system integration of projects in Production Development Projects

  • Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and project execution

  • Responsible for system-level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision-making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails

  • Lead technical design reviews for the project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails by working with key development team members (e.g. Subsystem teams, V&V Strategist, Project Leader) and by consulting with key architecture development team members when necessary (e.g. System Architect, Subsystem SMEs, V&V Strategist)

  • Responsible for driving full system validation through the use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design, and product validation stages

Responsible for driving Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development Process including the following:

  • Manage/Release of EBOMs based on project charter and architecture definition

  • Drive simulation of virtual prototypes and build physical prototypes per the V&V Plan

  • Document total expected variation to +/- 3 sigma distribution for each attribute

  • Document the revision of parts used in builds using baselines

  • Designate high contributing factors toward each function as a Special Characteristic

  • Drive the measurement and documentation of the special characteristics of physical prototypes

  • Drive closure of dFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 1+ years of experience working in hardware, software, or electrical component development

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Experience working in embedded software development using C, C++, or other embedded software languages

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others

  • Product delivery and Technical leadership in systems engineering

  • Appliance knowledge desired

  • System integration and design experience

  • Problem-solving approach with OPEX certification
