The Pharmacy Merchandising Senior Buyer is a dedicated professional who plays a vital role within the pharmacy merchandising team. Operating under the guidance of the Senior Director for brands, this individual specializes in ensuring the smooth functioning of the brand portfolio. With a keen focus on analytics, report generation, and bid processing for one-time buys, they contribute significantly to the team's success.

As the business owner for the pet medication portfolio, the Senior Buyer takes charge of sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the availability of essential pet medications across various Sam's Club locations. Their expertise extends to actively participating in the negotiation and management of contracts within the vaccine portfolio, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining strong vendor relationships and optimizing product assortment.

In addition to their responsibilities in brand management, the Senior Buyer also oversees the private label of diabetic testing supplies. They spearhead initiatives aimed at driving business growth, leveraging their strategic thinking and market knowledge to enhance the product offering and meet customer demands. With their exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex negotiations, the Pharmacy Merchandising Associate Buyer is an invaluable asset to the team.

This role will be based out of our home office location in Bentonville, Arkansas. Please note that this role will not support immigration-related employment benefits such as H-1B, TN, L-1, or STEM Extension

You'll make an impact by:

  • You will utilize your expertise in running reports and conducting analytics to provide valuable insights for decision-making within the pharmacy merchandising team.

  • You will be responsible for efficiently processing bids for one-time buys and skillfully negotiating contracts for the branded product portfolio.

  • As the leader of the diabetic testing supply private label, you will drive the business forward by implementing strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals.

  • You will support the cross-functional buying matrix team by aligning the workload of the subcategory team with modular relay timelines and strategies, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient execution.

  • Your expertise will be crucial in creating purchase plans, overseeing the execution of business plans at the store level, and analyzing inputs and reports from team members to drive informed decision-making.

  • As part of your role, you will address merchandising issues, actively participate in team meetings, and escalate any critical issues to management when necessary, showcasing your ability to navigate challenges and find effective solutions.

  • You will play a key role in contributing to the development of strategies and growth initiatives for multiple formats and departments, leveraging your insights and market knowledge to drive success.

  • Staying current on customer and competitive trends will be essential as you adapt strategies to meet the unique needs of small formats, ensuring Walmart remains at the forefront of the industry.

  • Collaborating closely with core merchandising teams, you will tailor category brands and assortments to cater to diverse customer needs, fostering a customer-centric approach and enhancing the overall shopping experience.

  • You will be responsible for several key upcoming expansions in the Sam's club pharmacy space into other Classes of Trade and outpatient drugs coverage programs.

  • You will be further responsible for managing Sam's+ formulary, product selection and offering expansion.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams, you will ensure alignment with modular relay timelines and strategies, fostering a cohesive and integrated approach.

  • Communication Skills: Your exceptional communication skills will be instrumental as you effectively convey business issues, needs, and strategies to senior management, fostering open and transparent communication channels.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
