Description:

MacNeal Hospital has excellent opportunity for a registered nurse to join the leadership team for the cardiac telemetry department located Berwyn, Illinois. Our team of registered nurses, patient care techs, care managers, social workers, residents, and physicians are dedicated to providing compassionate care to the diverse community we serve. Utilizing evidence-based practice and a commitment to a safe patient care environment, our leaders support the growth and development of telemetry nurses as they deliver care to our patients.

Position requirements:

  • Operationalize the organization's mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.

  • Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating the annual department goals and objectives in alignment with the mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.

  • Ensure staff knowledge and participation in quality improvement activities, including but not limited to The Joint Commission's core measure projects, National Patient Safety Goals initiatives, and NDNQI goals; evidenced-based projects and research activities.

  • Participates in the bi-annual review of all unit-specific polices/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evidenced based practice.

  • Communicates current professional nursing standard that reflect standards for patient specific populations.

  • Participates in house-wide quality and safety indicators and evidenced-based projects, and establishes unit specific quality indicators.

  • Establishes unit based evidenced-based projects/research projects as appropriate.

  • Utilize the patient safety communication system, identify opportunities for improvement and lead/participate in initiatives to improve quality and safety.

  • Demonstrates improvement in the quality and safety of patient care through an interdisciplinary unit- based committee/mechanism, which monitors the effectiveness/appropriateness and outcomes of patient care.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.

  • 2-3 years of previous critical care RN experience; 1-2 years of previous RN leadership experience preferred.

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Illinois

  • CPR, ACLS

  • Other: Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization is preferred.

  • Shift rotation/hybrid
