Job Description:

We are currently looking for a passionate and hardworking Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join one of our partner schools in Berwyn, IL for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. In this role, the SLP will work between two Elementary Schools, supporting K-5th grade students. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech and language services, including assessments, individualized education plans (IEPs), and therapeutic interventions, to help students succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Support K-5th Grade students between two Elementary Schools in Berwyn, IL.

  • The selected SLP can work at each school 2.5 days a week or split up their schedule to work 2 days at one school and 3 days at the other.

  • Overview of first K-5th Grade School:

    -SLP will mainly service General Education and Self-Contained students. Most of the Special Education students have ASD but are verbal. There is another full-time SLP at this school.

  • Overview of second K-5th Grade School:

    -This is a smaller Elementary School (around 200 students). The SLP will manage a traditional, mixed caseload. More details are to follow.

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations for K-5 students.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Manage a caseload of 40 students.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers regarding speech and language strategies.

  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal setting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain CCC-SLP.

  • Experience working with K-5 students in a school setting is preferred, but not required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.

  • Ability to travel between two Elementary School locations in Berwyn, IL.
