JOB REQUIREMENTS: RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles, equipment and buildings at the Road Commission. Implement and monitor preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is cost effective. Assist employees in obtaining mechanical training and certifications needed to perform job duties. Maintain inventory of vehicles, maintenance equipment, fuel, parts, etc. Enforce Road Commission safety practices and procedures. Supervise, direct, train, evaluate, and discipline Fleet Services employees. Assist in developing Fleet Services budget. Build and maintain a positive relationship with dealers, suppliers, and contractors. Review and approve daily timesheets, work logs, vehicle logs, material usage, etc. Monitor department operations and respond to problems or complaints in a professional manner. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent isrequired. 3+ years of supervisory experience isrequired,supervisoryexperience in fleet management ispreferred. 5+ years of vehicle or heavy machinery maintenancepreferred. Experience working at a Road Commission is a plus. Must have or be willing to obtain a commercial drivers license with a Group B endorsement. Knowledge of diesel and gas engine mechanics, vehicle make-up, garage layouts, and safety practicesrequired. Familiarity with diagnostic and inventory softwarepreferred.
